Welcome to Out of the Box: The Journey Begins 

Welcome to the very first entry of the Out of the Box Research & Development journal! This project is an exciting evolution of my practice, generously supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. 

Over the coming months, this blog will serve as a living archive for my creative research. I will be sharing my raw studio processes, weekend sketchbooks, and digital textile developments as I bridge the gap between traditional printmaking and digital motion. 

The heart of this R&D phase is collaboration. Working alongside eight autistic children and their families, we will be testing clean, sensory-friendly print and collage workflows to build a collaborative digital animation ecosystem titled The Animated Grimoire. 

To honour the slow, materials-led nature of this work, I am focusing my energy inside the studio rather than feeding a social media algorithm. This space is where the real documentation lives. Expect raw snapshots of custom Procreate grain brushes, Adobe Fresco vector experiments, textile patterns, and updates from our family workshops.
